Correct & thorough keyword analysis is the cornerstone of SEO in our opinion. It’s certainly one of the most important phases in building an SEO strategy, it’s that important that if our clients don’t want to do it, then we don’t work with them it’s that simple.
Let’s say you’re a dentist in Doncaster or a landscape gardener in Leeds, you’ll probably have a pretty good idea of what your keywords are. Yes, you guessed it ‘dentist doncaster’ and ‘landscape gardeners leeds’ would be pretty close to the mark.
If, however, you’re involved in much wider scope or have an ecommerce website that sells to the whole of the UK then you’d better make sure you’ve analysed every niche – why?
Because you run the risk of spending a lot of time and effort tying to optimise for search terms that either don’t have enough traffic or or way too competitive for you and your budget. Doing an analysis of the search term popularity v competition is critical to the success of your SEO campaign.
